DIY Potting Bench With Sink

A potting bench with a sink is a great addition to any garden. It provides a convenient place to pot plants, wash tools, and mix soil. You can buy a potting bench with a sink, but they can be expensive. If you're on a budget, you can build your own.

Materials:

2x4 lumber
3/4-inch plywood
1/2-inch PVC pipe
1/4-inch brass barb
1/4-inch copper tubing
Sink
Faucet
Screws
Nails
Wood glue

Instructions:

1. Cut the 2x4 lumber to the following lengths:
- 4 pieces at 24 inches
- 4 pieces at 36 inches
- 2 pieces at 48 inches
2. Assemble the frame of the potting bench by attaching the 24-inch 2x4s to the 36-inch 2x4s using wood glue and screws. Make sure the frame is square.
3. Attach the 48-inch 2x4s to the frame to form the legs of the potting bench. Again, use wood glue and screws to secure the legs.
4. Cut the plywood to fit the top of the potting bench. Attach the plywood to the frame using wood glue and nails.
5. Cut a hole in the plywood for the sink. The hole should be slightly smaller than the sink so that the sink will fit snugly.
6. Install the sink in the plywood. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for installing the sink.
7. Install the faucet in the sink. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for installing the faucet.
8. Cut the PVC pipe to the following lengths:
- 1 piece at 12 inches
- 1 piece at 18 inches
- 1 piece at 24 inches
9. Attach the PVC pipe to the frame of the potting bench using wood glue and screws. The 12-inch piece should be attached to the back of the potting bench, the 18-inch piece should be attached to the left side, and the 24-inch piece should be attached to the right side.
10. Attach the brass barb to the end of the 12-inch PVC pipe.
11. Attach the copper tubing to the brass barb. The copper tubing should be long enough to reach the faucet.
12. Attach the other end of the copper tubing to the faucet.
13. Turn on the water and check for leaks.

Tips:

You can use any type of wood for the potting bench, but cedar is a good choice because it is rot-resistant.
If you don't have a sink, you can use a large bucket instead.
You can add shelves or drawers to the potting bench for extra storage.
