Double Kitchen Sink Plumbing With Dishwasher Kit

Installing a double kitchen sink with a dishwasher can be a daunting task, but it is definitely doable with the right tools and materials. Here is a step-by-step guide to help you get the job done right.

Tools and Materials You Will Need

Two kitchen sinks
Two sink strainers
Two tailpieces
Two P-traps
Dishwasher
Dishwasher drain hose
Faucet
Soldering iron
Solder
Flux
Pipe wrench
Teflon tape

Step 1: Prepare the Sink

Start by removing the old sink and countertop. Then, clean the area where the new sink will be installed. Be sure to remove any debris or old sealant.

Step 2: Install the Dishwasher

Next, install the dishwasher. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for your specific model.

Step 3: Connect the Dishwasher to the Sink

Once the dishwasher is installed, connect it to the sink. To do this, attach the dishwasher drain hose to the garbage disposal or dishwasher drain outlet. Then, connect the dishwasher water supply line to the hot and cold water supply lines under the sink.

Step 4: Install the Sinks

Now it's time to install the sinks. Place the sinks in the countertop and secure them with the mounting hardware. Be sure to level the sinks before tightening the hardware.

Step 5: Connect the Sinks to the Drain

Next, connect the sinks to the drain. To do this, attach a tailpiece to the bottom of each sink. Then, attach a P-trap to the bottom of each tailpiece. Finally, connect the P-traps to the drainpipe.

Step 6: Connect the Faucet

Now, connect the faucet to the sinks. To do this, attach the faucet to the water supply lines under the sink. Then, tighten the nuts on the faucet.

Step 7: Finish the Installation

Finally, finish the installation by caulking around the sinks and faucet. This will help to prevent leaks.

Tips

Be sure to use Teflon tape on all threaded connections.
