How To Snake A Bathroom Sink

If your bathroom sink is clogged, a snake can be used to clear the blockage. A snake is a long, flexible tool that can be inserted into the drain and used to break up and remove clogs. There are two main types of snakes: manual snakes and electric snakes. Manual snakes are operated by hand, while electric snakes are powered by a motor.

To snake a bathroom sink, follow these steps:

Remove the drain stopper. If your sink has a pop-up drain stopper, simply pull it up to remove it. If your sink has a screw-in drain stopper, use a screwdriver to remove the screw and then lift the stopper out.
Insert the snake into the drain. Feed the snake into the drain until it reaches the clog. You may need to use a flashlight to see inside the drain.
Turn the snake clockwise. As you turn the snake, it will begin to break up the clog. continue turning the snake until the clog is completely cleared and the water is draining freely.
Remove the snake from the drain.
1. If you are using a manual snake, simply pull it out of the drain.
2. If you are using an electric snake, turn off the motor and then remove the snake from the drain.
Rinse the drain with hot water. Run the hot water for several minutes to rinse away any remaining debris from the clog.
