Installing A Laundry Room Sink

Installing a laundry room sink can be a straightforward task that can be completed in a few hours. By following these steps, you can ensure that your new sink is installed correctly and functioning properly.

Tools and Materials

Gather the following tools and materials before you begin:

Laundry sink
Faucet
P-trap
Sink strainer
Plumber's putty
Teflon tape
Wrench
Screwdriver
Level

Step 1: Prepare the Sink

Begin by placing the sink in the desired location. Use a level to ensure that the sink is level from front to back and side to side. Once the sink is level, mark the location of the mounting holes.

Apply a bead of plumber's putty around the drain hole in the sink. Place the sink strainer over the drain hole and press down firmly to create a seal.

Step 2: Install the Faucet

Wrap the threads of the faucet with Teflon tape. Screw the faucet into the mounting holes in the sink. Tighten the faucet using a wrench, but be careful not to overtighten.

Step 3: Connect the Drain

Connect the P-trap to the drain hole in the sink. Tighten the nuts on the P-trap using a wrench.

Connect the other end of the P-trap to the drainpipe. Tighten the nuts on the drainpipe using a wrench.

Step 4: Connect the Water Supply

Connect the water supply lines to the faucet. Wrap the threads of the water supply lines with Teflon tape. Tighten the water supply lines using a wrench, but be careful not to overtighten.
