Installing A New Bathroom Sink

Replacing a bathroom sink is a relatively simple plumbing project that can be completed in a few hours. With a few basic tools and materials, you can easily update the look of your bathroom and improve its functionality.

Before you begin, you'll need to gather the following tools and materials:

New bathroom sink
Wrench
Pliers
Screwdriver
Putty knife
Plumber's putty
Faucet
Drain stopper
Caulk

Once you have all of the necessary materials, you can begin the installation process.

Remove the old sink.

Turn off the water supply to the sink and disconnect the water lines using a wrench. Once the water lines are disconnected, you can use a screwdriver to remove the mounting screws that hold the sink in place. Carefully lift the old sink out of place.

Clean the countertop.

Before installing the new sink, it's important to clean the countertop to remove any dirt or debris. Use a clean cloth and a mild detergent to wipe down the countertop.

Apply plumber's putty.

Roll out a rope of plumber's putty and apply it to the rim of the new sink. The plumber's putty will help to seal the sink and prevent leaks.

Install the sink.

Carefully lift the new sink into place and gently press it down onto the countertop. Use a wrench to tighten the mounting screws that hold the sink in place.
